GMM Numberology - this how we rolled in 2026
In numerology 2026 = 10 = 1.
One years are all about beginnings.
What we know is that it is going to take everyday actions, face-to-face connections and one step at a time to usher in the world we desire to leave to our children and grandchildren: one characterized by mutual respect, compassion, connectedness, community and LOVE.
For this reason, we have been called to show up, boots on the ground style, every other year until our NINE year, 2034 (2 + 3 + 4= 9).
For the rest of 2026 we are integrating and organizing from what we learned on the first March. We are also seeking a harmonious non-profit structure and more. Stay tuned for community gatherings and updates.
In 2027, you will be able to make your plans, sign up to serve in whatever capacity feels the most aligned with your schedule and capacity.
In 2028, we celebrate the Send Off in Asheville on March 18th. We begin our pilgrimage to D.C. on March 19th. We stop to celebrate with Great Mother Fest in Charlottesville at IX Art Park on April 15th and we arrive in D.C., once again, on eARTh Day. Great Mother is ALSO Great Mother eARTh!

The Great Mother March (GMM) began on Spring Equinox, 2026, leaving Asheville, NC on March 22nd on Her way to the U.S. Capitol Steps, arriving April 22nd, 2026. We will also celebrate the event in Asheville with a Kick-off Festival on March 21st, 2026.

No. The total March will be 456 miles. It is approximately the same distance as the El Camino de Santiago in northern Spain. The opportunity is to... 1) join for the entire March walking. 2) Join for the entire March walking part way and riding in a support vehicle part way. 3) Join for part of the March. Maybe you join us for 3-7 days starting in Asheville or for the final leg into Washington D.C. 4) During our stops in communities along the way, there will be circles meeting to vision, collaborate. There will be speakers, ceremony & ritual. There will be murals painted, workshops led. Who knows who may appear to perform, inspire, co-create with us! So maybe you join for a night or two. Maybe you join a circle that will serve as the "Great Mother" for one of the stops, coordinating with the community... How do you WANT to participate? That is what you choose.

Once you join our "portal" here, you have access to a spreadsheet with our working route. We will be contacting communities identified on our route to collaborate with them regarding sleeping arrangements, food, etc. This is not a catered event. There is no entry fee, etc. Some might sleep in tents in campgrounds, school gyms, or in the backyards of allies along the way. There will be places along the route where hotel reservations could be made and you can drive to rejoin the March each morning. This is a journey of TRUST, of dancing with the MYSTERY, of witnessing and anticipating the communities and people along the way stepping up to serve The Great Mother in a kaleidoscope of ways.

Since we will be marching for 32 days, we anticipate the news spreading and more & more women and men arriving to join us. We will march through Charlottesville, VA and are envisioning a rest day and a kind of festival atmosphere there. We will have a meeting point for the final parade into Washington D.C. so people can meet us there! We are holding loosely to the "how" while creating the supporting structures so that this can expand into as large and impressive an event as possible!
